These include definitive histories of such famous battles as Operation Pedestal
the convoy that saved Malta in August 1942 and the Battle of Midway in the Pacific
Ocean the same year as well as individual ship histories, historical surveys like
the Royal Navy Courts Martial down the centuries and Preserved Historic ships;
and current subjects like Ferries and Cruise Ships.
There are detailed individual aircraft histories, unsurpassed in their depth
of research and information including the Junkers Ju87 Stuka; the Douglas SBD
Dauntless, the Petlyakov Pe-2 Peshka; the Blackburn Skua and the Vultee A-35 Vengeance;
biographical studies of proponents of the art, like Strike from the Sky and Into
the Assault and general overall histories from unique sources untapped by other
historians, like Dive-Bomber! and The History of Dive-Bombing.
Essentially then, the aim of this site is to:-
1: Give salient details on myself and my published and prepared books in all their
different editions to date.
2: Make my work known to a much larger readership and so enable the facts I have
unearthed from original and hitherto scorned sources and eyewitness accounts and
so bring fresh perspectives and insights to their subjects.
A gentleman wrote to me from Switzerland telling me how much he enjoyed my approach,
which he described as, “...iconoclastic and heterodox criticism which seems full
of common sense.” That is my aim and I shall certainly continue to question the
more banal and speculative outpourings on these various subjects as long as I am
Aside from the normal wish of any Author to ensure that the work they produce reaches
the maximum possible audience, this site has been established to showcase more than
50 years of original research. In addition to the UK, my books have been published
in Australia, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Malta, Russia,
Sweden and the United States and with French and Spanish editions also due shortly.
